My Heart Has Been Ripped From My Chest

That's my oldest son Nate and his girlfriend Michelle. Cute aren't they? Well, Sir Nate decided that he's now old enough to break his mother's heart and move far far far far far away (almost 2 miles) into a house with HER. I'm trying REAL hard to let go and keep my nose out of his "bidnez", but let's be honest, that's never been my forte. They actually balance each other out quite well and they seem to be quite smitten with each other. Deep down I know they'll be ok and I really do like her, but HE'S MY BABY BOY!!!!!! He's not old enough to move in with his girlfriend! After all, it was just yesterday that he learned how to drink out of a real cup and say "Mama".

Of course, like most moms, I'd rather they be married than just living together. But hey, he knows my views, and it's his life and his decisions and all I can do is make sure he knows that I love him anyway. Besides, the utilities are in my name so if they get too out of control I'll just have the electricity shut off. MWAAAAAAA HAAAAAA HAAAAAAAA!

Here's a cutesy pic of them in front of their house. I just love how she looks like the damsel in distress. She could actually skin a bear alive, but she's good at letting Nate be her "Hero" (I could probably learn a thing or two from her).

Gosh darn it, they're just too cute!!!

Oh and here's a pic of baby Sam after our little visit to Nate's house where he did a face plant down the steps to the back yard. It's actually healing very nicely and I don't even think there'll be a scar.
Yes, Nate, I'm keeping this picture just to torture you. If you had just stayed at home with your Mommy, then your little brother never would have fallen down the steps. Bad, bad, bad, big brother (hee hee, love you).

Oh, yes...they do tear you aprart don't they! One of mine moved 90 miles away and has a girlfriend (they have their own places...not that it means anything :P),the other married (they do compliment each other well)and daughter and son-in-law live hours away...I do good with phone calls and occasional visits..unless I come across their baby pics and then I just loose it!
Can't wrap them up in bubble wrap or hide them from the world forever..but I would give alot to have them back in diapers...you know, hindsight and all :P

Hello, I don't know if your post is real or not, but let your son go. He will love you for it and that is the most important thing in life. My son has been ripped away from me and I am dying inside, he is 16 and I don't know if I will ever see him again. I have a lump in my throat just thinking about him and your son only moved two miles away. Maybe you put too much on him by expecting him to care for your baby. It isn't your sons responsibility to raise your younger children. He is not a babysitter or a parent.

Anonymous:I'm sorry to hear about your son and I'm guessing that your pain is what left you blind to the sarcasm used in my post. I'm very blessed to have a wonderful relationship with all my children and Nathan and I joke often about him always being my baby boy. The main thing I've worked to teach my kids is that no matter what they do or how I feel about their actions, I will always love them no matter what. I'm not real sure where you get the idea that Nate was ever responsible for raising my other kids, again, maybe it's just your pain speaking. I do hope you and your son will somehow patch things up. Best to you and thanks for dropping in.
